What is Paper Io?
Paper IO is a multiplayer territory-conquering game where you control a small color square. As soon as you walk, your square leaves a mark that makes boundaries for the new area. Once you connect your footpath back to your existing region, the land inside becomes yours. The larger your area, the higher your score. But be careful - your tail is your weak place. If an enemy crosses your mark before connecting it, the game is over!
How to Play Paper IO
Playing Paper IO is simple, which makes it easy for beginners to start immediately:
- Move your square - control your character using the arrow keys or your computer mouse.
- Extend your area - leave your safe area and draw new boundaries with your footpath.
- Connect back - once your mark is connected to your land, the occupied area is yours.
- Avoid enemies - Never let opponents touch your tail while expanding.
- Attack strategically - you can eliminate other players by crossing your mark before completing it.
The goal is simple: claim as much land as possible and live longer than your opponents.

Stay Close to Your Base at First
When you start, focus on the small expansion around your area. It keeps you safe and reduces the chances of a bite.

If you see an enemy enhancing your mark, cut it quickly to eliminate them. It is one of the fastest methods of climbing the leaderboard.
